
ADIA Dental Research Award
The Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) Research Award, valued at $5000, is awarded annually to the primary applicant for the highest-ranked research grant application. It is to be used for a new research programme, or for additional research into the project currently funded. The following have received the Award from the date of inception:
2002 - Dr Jane Chalmers
The Practical Oral Care Video – evaluation of a Dental Awareness Month initiative.
2003 - Dr Sasso Ivanovski
Confirmation of protein expression encoded by transcripts that are differentially expressed in periodontal regeneration.
2004 - Dr David Manton
“The correlation of quantitative light-induced fluorescence (QLF), digital photography (DP) and transversal microradiographic (TMR) measurements of enamel demineralisation and remineralisation with CPP-ACP.
2005 - Dr Annetta Tsang
Rapid assessment of plaque acid production and its relationship to plaque microbiota.
2006 - Mr Alexander Zavgorodniy
Microstructure and growth mechanisms of human dentine crystals
2007 - Associate Prof Robert Ashman
Innate defence against infections with the yeast Candida albicans mediated by the acute phase protein, serum amyloid A.
2008 - Dr Andrew Chang
A characterisation of interradicular mineralized tissue adaptation in an aseptic necrosis model.
These grants reflect the commitment of ADIA, and the broader dental industry, to supporting research that increases the understanding dentistry and initiatives that support the oral healthcare of all Australians.
