ADIA-DRC Dental Regulation Committee
The ADIA-DRC Dental Regulation Committee allows businesses within the dental industry the opportunity and contribute to the development of policy and standards for the supply of dental product. Its primary area of interest is the regulatory standards associated with the manufacture, importation, supply and servicing of the equipment and consumables used by dentists and allied oral healthcare professionals.
ADIA's objective in progressing policy reform is to that member businesses can supply dental product free from an unnecessary regulatory burden. The ADIA-DRC committee's responsibilities include:
ADIA-DRC Committee terms of reference
Review proposals for new / amended regulation associated with the manufacture, importation and supply
of dental products in Australia;
Coordinate ADIA's participation in, and contribution to, the development of Australian and international
standards; and
Coordinate ADIA's participation in, and contribution to, the development of codes and guidelines published
by other stakeholders.
As ADIA is recognised by the Australian Government as the peak representative body for the dental industry, the ADIA-DRC committee coordinates a response to various government inquiries and policy discussion papers on matters affecting the regulation of dental products in Australia and internationally. In order to ensure that technical standards and government policy relevant to the dental industry achieve their intended outcomes, reflect contemporary practice and do not place unnecessary burdens on companies, the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) is represented on a number of government committees and stakeholder working groups.

Membership of ADIA-DRC is open to any employee of an ADIA member company who is able to make a contribution to the work of the committee. The committee typically meets four times a year via teleconference and review the ADIA meeting schedule for a list of dates:
