For Laboratories — Laboratory interest group

a
The Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) believes that with that with a positive vision and strong leadership, the Australian dental laboratory sector has a prosperous future. To allow dental laboratories from across Australia to come together in order to understand emerging issues and develop a response to the same, ADIA convenes the ADIA-LIG Laboratory Interest Group.

Comprising representatives from businesses across the dental laboratory sector, the ADIA-LIG utilises the Association’s extensive network of stakeholders across industry and government to create an environment in which laboratories can grow, create jobs and operate sustainably. Work of the interest group includes:

Review business conditions —

The ADIA Australian Dental Industry Intelligence Report and ADIA Dental Products Business Conditions Survey are reviewed along with other data that provides guidance on current market conditions for dental laboratory products.

Understand and influence product standards —

The ADIA-LIG Laboratory Interest Group works with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) on behalf of the dental laboratory sector to ensure that regulatory standards for custom-made medical devices products are based on a risk management approach designed to ensure public health and safety.

Strengthen relationships with key industry stakeholders —

The interest group provides a platform for ADIA’s engagement with key stakeholders including the TGA, Department of Health, the Australian Dental Association (ADA), the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and the Australian Made campaign.

The ADIA-LIG Laboratory Interest Group conducts most of its business via email and the group convenes twice each year where it meets with a key external stakeholder from the sector.
