For Manufacturers — EMDG Grant Assistance

Australia’s dental product manufacturers are able to access the Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) scheme, an Australian Government initiative that provides financial support for business exploring overseas market development.

Members of the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) that export products and services overseas are not only eligible for the grant, but are able to access discounted professional assistance in making EMDG scheme applications.

The EMDG scheme encourages Australian exporters to develop overseas markets for goods, services, and intellectual property and know-how, which are manufactured, provided or developed in Australia. The Scheme provides reimbursement of up to approximately 50% of eligible expenditure incurred in the promotion and marketing of goods and services to overseas markets above a $5,000 threshold.

EMDG Eligible Grant Expenditure —

. Overseas representatives and marketing consultants
. Travel costs for marketing purposes
. Product promotion (free samples)
. Trade exhibitions
. Promotional literature and advertising material
. Overseas buyers visiting Australia, trademark and patent registrations

This means that an eligible exporting business can receive up to 50¢ for every dollar they spend above $5,000 on the above export-promoting expenditures. Up to eight grants can be received.

ADIA Member Benefit —

The EMD scheme is of great assistance to Australian dental product manufacturers wishing to participate in the pavilions at the IDS Cologne and IDEM Singapore dental exhibitions. In certain circumstances the grant may also be available to your business if you are attending these exhibitions but not exhibiting.
