ADIA-ISPC Industry Skills Projects Committee
The ADIA-ISC Industry Skills Projects Committee reviews dental industry skills needs, and works with private and public vocational education and training providers to address skills shortages in addition to oversight of course and seminars that the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) delivers nationally.
The ADIA Strategic Plan recognises that for the dental industry to provide quality products and services, there is the need for a knowledgeable, skilled workforce. To help secure this, the ADIA-ISC committee is tasked with responsibilities including:
Training Package Development —
Liaise with relevant Industry Skills Councils about the development of training packages relevant to the Australian dental industry.
Training Course Delivery —
Review the capability of training providers to deliver industry-relevant training and, where a training gap exists, encourage providers to deliver training courses.
Continuing Professional Development —
Developing and strategic oversight of ADIA's own seminars and training programs including the biennial conference and the widely acclaimed ADIA Introduction To Dentistry Course in addition to TGA Regulatory Compliance Modules and related programs.
ADIA National Conference —
The committee also has oversight of the biennial ADIA national conference that will next be held during late 2016 in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales.
ADIA supports a culture in which continuing professional development is prevalent across all levels of the dental industry. ADIA’s role is to provide opportunities for members to come together, discuss industry best practice, and share information and ideas. This is underpinned by the understanding that the dental industry is strengthened when its collective wisdom is used to encourage best practice.
