ADIA is the peak business organisation representing manufacturers and suppliers of dental products. Our vision is for an industry that empowers oral health professionals to advance the health and wellbeing of all Australians...................... — ADIA Strategic Plan

Member Engagement —
ADIA-TCPC Trade & Commercial Policy Committee

The Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) brings together employees from member businesses who share an interest in understanding and influencing the commercial, technical, and regulatory environment in which the dental industry operates. Through the ADIA-TCPC Trade & Commercial Policy Committee, ADIA provides a platform for these individuals to share ideas and make a positive contribution to the national economic and business policy debate.

ADIA is a member of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AusChamber), the nation's largest and most representative grouping of peak business associations. The link between ADIA and AusChamber provides a vehicle for the Australian dental industry to make a substantial and lasting contribution to the national policy debate and considerably strengthens the work of the ADIA-TCPC committee.

Workplace & Employee Policy —

Consider reform proposals from the Australian Government to amend the workplace relations and workplace health and safety framework and liaise with the AusChamber Workplace Relations Committee.

Taxation Policy —

Ensure that the dental industry's interests are taken into account as the Australian Government considers changes to business taxation, personal taxation, and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and related revenue streams.

International Trade Policy —

Review bilateral and multilateral trade agreements to ensure that they protect Australian business interests and work to eliminate technical barriers to trade, particularly in the form of regulation for dental products.

Manufacturing, Research, and Development Policy —

Work with the Australian Government to ensure that policy settings support an Australian dental products manufacturing sector in addition to research and development of new products.

The ADIA-TCPC committee typically meets three to four times per year and much of the committee’s work is undertaken electronically with the secretariat functions being provided by ADIA national office staff. Participation in the work of the ADIA-TCPC is open to any employee of an ADIA member company who is able to make a contribution to the work of the committee's membership which currently includes:
