The Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) administered the ADIA Code of Practice in accordance with an Australian Government requirement that the dental industry works with the dental profession to ensure that decisions made be on patient diagnosis and treatment options are based on sound clinical evidence, not driven by incentives or other influences. To assist the dental industry understand its obligations under the ADIA Code of Practice, further guidance is offered on the framework associated with the provision of gifts by industry to healthcare professionals. [Read More]

It is important to note that the framework for the advertising and promotion of therapeutic products is evolving. The advice and guidance the ADIA-CAC Code Administration Committee is important in shaping the direction of the ADIA Code of Practice; however, it does not approve the document nor does the ADIA Board. Ultimate responsibility for approving the ADIA Code of Practice rests with the membership which will, from time to time, be asked to approve a new version of the document at a general meeting convened in accordance with the ADIA Constitution within the context of the Corporations Act 2010 (Cth).
