Key Issues For Consideration —
The Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) is the peak business organisation representing manufacturers and suppliers of dental products and its vision is for industry that empowers oral health professionals to advance the health and well-being of all Australians. There is clearly widespread interest in this work as evidenced by the ADIA Facebook page surpassing the 50,000 supporter milestone this month.
As can be expected of any industry association, ADIA's primary priority is on providing advice and guidance to those employed by member companies; however, ADIA has a clear focus on engaging dental and oral healthcare professionals across the nation. ADIA's aim here is to build a community that, as a result of the symbiotic relationship that exists between the dental industry and dental profession, has a shared interest in achieving optimal oral healthcare outcomes thanks to the new and innovative products introduced by the dental industry.
In the same way that ADIA uses industry statistics to drive it's policy advocacy work, the statistics behind the ADIA Facebook page are used to guide the Association's engagement with dental and oral healthcare professionals. It reflects ADIA's considered approach to strategy and decision-making. The ADIA Facebook page can be viewed online at:
The ADIA Facebook page is used as a platform to engage with individuals from across the sector in order to raise awareness of the issues important to manufacturers and suppliers of dental products. Issues covered range from the latest updates on dental exhibitions, through to policy advocacy and training courses. Posts about the dental industry statistics produced by ADIA always generate a large amount of interest.
An outcome of the 2016-20 ADIA Strategic Plan to be launched next month will be to utilise the ADIA Facebook Page as a platform to raise the profile of member businesses, their products and services.
Since it was launched in 2010 there has been sustained interest in the ADIA Facebook page, something that's accelerated in the past few months with more than 1,000 additional people supporting the page each week.
