ADIA's First Technical Forum

ADIA's First Technical Forum

1st Jul 19

On Thursday, 20 June 2019, the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) held its first Technical Forum by teleconference. The Forum is a place where companies that are having any regulatory or technical issues (not just TGA issues) can come together and discuss the issues and receive feedback and advice from other members.

The first Forum was chaired by Joanne Challinor-Rogers, Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs at Dentsply Sirona, with assistance from Clare Martin, Regulatory Consultant at Clare Martin & Associates, and covered a wide range of issues affecting the dental industry.

The Forum opened with an overview of the TGA’s quarterly Reg and Tech Forums that are attended by ADIA Chief Executive Officer, Kym De Britt, Ms Challinor-Rogers, and Ms Martin on behalf of ADIA members.

Topics discussed in the Forum were:

■ Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code;

■ GMDN and UMDN Codes and potential global harmonisation;

■ TGA classifications;

■ Teeth Whitening regulations and clarification of the current situation with The Dental Board of Australia and the ACCC’s position;

■ Patient Implant Cards; and

■ Biocon and Enzymatic detergents.

The next Technical Forum will be held by teleconference on Thursday, 5 September 2019 at 3:00pm AEST. We ask that you encourage any of your regulatory or technical team or, of course, yourself to attend the Forum.

Further details of the teleconference and an agenda will be forwarded by email in due course.

We again take this opportunity to thank all those who attended the first Technical Forum and making it a success.
