Promoting the professional advancement of women in the oral health sector through networking, mentoring, education and career development.

Founded in 2020, the Women in Dentistry program supports the professional advancement of women across the oral health sector. Through networking, education, and mentoring, the program creates meaningful opportunities for women at every stage of their career in the Australian dental industry.
The program runs across three key initiatives: quarterly webinars bringing together industry voices on topics that matter, an annual scholarship supporting women to grow their professional education and governance skills, and a dedicated breakfast event at ADX bringing the community together in person.
Thirty years ago, women made up just one in four dental students at most Australian universities. Today, more than 55 per cent of all dental practitioners in Australia are women, with that figure reaching 61 per cent in some states.
